Why does Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-NV) refuse to give credit to our brave troops? He says that the only reason violence is down in Iraq is that insurgents are running out of people to kill, and he had the nerve to make such an outrageous claim on the floor of the United States Senate:
"Violence is down, and certainly that is important and good, but many of the experts are saying one reason the violence is down is that so much ethnic cleansing has already taken place."
The real story, the fact that our men and women in uniform have been doing stellar work, is buried on page 19 of the New York Times today:
"American forces have routed Al Qaeda in Mesopotamia, the Iraqi militant network, from every neighborhood of Baghdad, a top American general said today, allowing American troops involved in the 'surge' to depart as planned" (emphasis added).
Someone needs to tell Harry Reid that George Soros and his MoveOn.org cronies do not count as "experts."
