You Can't Have Your Kid and Kill It Too

Disclaimer: I'm just an average guy...

Mitt Romney (October 26, 1994):
"... regardless of one's beliefs about choice, you would hope it would be safe and legal."

Mitt Romney (March 20, 2002):
"On a personal basis, I don't favor abortion.  However, as governor of the commonwealth, I will protect a woman's right to choose under the laws of the country and the commonwealth.  That's the same position I've had for many years."

Mitt Romney (February 18, 2007):
"Abortion is taking human life.  There's no question but that human life begins when all the DNA is there necessary for cells to divide and become a human being.  Is it alive?  Yes.  Is it human?  Yes.  And, therefore, when we abort a fetus, we are taking a life at its infancy, at its very, very beginning roots, and a civilized society, I believe, respects the sanctity of human life... And in my particular view, I believe in life, I believe in respecting life, and I believe that we should, as a series of states, allow states to make their own choice in this regard."

Mitt Romney (August 6, 2007):
"We support a Human Life Amendment to the Constitution and we endorse legislation to make it clear that the 14th Amendment's protections apply to unborn children."  (These would make abortion illegal nationwide, by the way)

Mitt Romney (August 21, 2007)
"My view, of course, is I'm a pro-life individual.  That's the position I support.  But I'd let states have this choice rather than let the federal government have it."

So which is it?  Abortion should be "safe and legal," so you will "protect a woman's right to choose?"  Or, "abortion is taking human life," but let's "allow states to make their own choice," in whether or not to take that life?  Or do you "support a Human Life Amendment to the Constitution," which would make abortion illegal in every state?  Or are you going to stick with letting "states have this choice?"

I'm confused.  And either Governor Romney is as well, or he is intentionally misleading the voters in this country.  Just take a stand and stand firm and quit with the flip-flop-flip!  Drop the line about personally respecting life, but letting others choose whether or not to end it.

You can't have your kid and kill it too.
