Chavez Can Dish It, But Can't Take It

Disclaimer: I'm just an average guy...

Here's what I think anyway...
Venezuelan dictator Hugo Chavez announced this week that foreigners who come to the country and criticize his government will be deported.

"How long are we going to allow a person- from any country in the world- to come to our own house to say there's a dictatorship here, that our president is a tyrant and nobody does anything about it?"

Funny... it seems that is exactly what Chavez did last year when he came to New York to speak at the U.N.  He called President Bush, "the Devil," and then headed up to Harlem to showcase his diplomatic skills there:

"I said he was the devil.  I think he's the devil.  He's a sick man, full of complexes, but very dangerous because he has a lot of power."

We didn't kick him out... and he's the President of a country!  But Chavez wants to kick out any foreigner, large or small, who would dare speak out about his government.  Perhaps that's why those of us who live in democracy consider his rule a "dictatorship."
