Disclaimer: I'm just an average guy...
Here's what I think anyway... Democrat presidential hopeful Barack Obama proved his moderate credentials once again this week by telling Planned Parenthood supporters that sex education for Kindergarten students is, "the right thing to do." As long as it's "age appropriate," of course.
When asked to clarify what sex education he felt was "age appropriate" for 5-year-olds, Obama danced around a bit, but eventually concluded that, "that's going to be determined on a case by case basis by local communities and local school boards."
Obama claims that his plan would simply teach about "inappropriate touching." Really?! Well, if that's the case, then what actually needs to be decided by the "local communities and local school boards?"
Actually, Obama's plan would simply provide cover for liberal school boards and their "educators" to begin introducing more mature topics into the Kindergarten dialogue (i.e. homosexuality, abortion, etc.). The idea is to introduce these topics in a positive light to children early and often, so that it becomes completely normal to them. It's called brain washing... socialists love it!
Never wanting to miss an opportunity to pretend he's a Conservative, Mitt Romney attacked Obama's comments saying that there is no sex education that is age-appropriate for kindergarteners. Now, I'm not sure how long Romney will hold this position, but for now I'll say, "Way to go Mitt!" (Though I'm still not voting for you...)
Obama spokeswoman Jen Psaki responded to Romney's comments saying, "Barack Obama supports sensible, community-driven education because, among other things, he believes it could help protect them from pedophiles" (emphasis added). She failed to clarify what those "other things" would be.
I don't buy it. Senator, if you were really concerned about protecting children, then let's hear what you have to say about judges putting sex offenders back on the streets rather than in prison. As President, what would you be prepared to do about that?
But let's be realistic here... Obama's concern is not protecting children, but indoctrinating them.
Senator, it is the right of PARENTS to decide what information is "age-appropriate" for their own children. Government has no business there at all.
