Disclaimer: I'm just an average guy...
Here's what I think anyway... Amidst calls for action from many U.S. congressmen, President Bush announced today that he has, "made the decision not to send U.S. troops unilaterally into Darfur." Of course not!
We've been down this road before, and we all know how liberals operate. They clamor for action against a genocidal dictator, but the U.N. just passes ignored resolution after ignored resolution. So our troops are sent in to to depose the oligarch, which they do with amazing precision and efficiency.
But al Qaeda doesn't like that so they make chaos of the situation by blowing up anything that moves which prompts Democrats, who began by clamoring for action, to begin clamoring for defeat, all the while trying to hide that fact that they ever clamored for action in the first place.
It happened in Iraq, and it would happen in Darfur.
