UNimpressed

Disclaimer: I'm just an average guy with an above average interest in news and politics. But hey, here's what I think anyway...

What I think…
After Kofi Annan stepped down as Secretary General of the U.N., I thought his replacement (Ban Ki Moon of South Korea) might be the change the organization has sorely needed since, well, right after Annan was sworn in. However, Ban's recent editorial in the Washington Post, blaming the violence in Darfur on "man-made climate change," just proves that the U.N. elites will probably never get it. Do they really believe that the Islamists (or militant muslims, if you will) who are slaughtering people in Darfur would otherwise be peaceful, if it weren't for their deeply-held convictions about saving the environment?

The article illustrates the only policy the U.N. is determined to successfully implement: To continue to decline into a state of denial and irrelevance.
